ServiceNow insert and stay problem on images on catalog item: unable to remove the pictures/icons on the new item

ServiceNow insert and stay problem on images on catalog item: unable to remove the pictures/icons on the new item

Solution Proposed: Use the 'Copy" button to create a copy of the catalog item Because the "Insert & Stay" will only copies the item details If you want to still use insert and stay you can use the below background script afterward. var gr = new GlideRecord('sc_cat_item'); gr.get('sys_id_of_cat_item_created_using_insert_and_stay'); gr.picture = ''; gr.icon=''; gr.update(); This will clear the picture and you can upload a new one. Next Steps: Please read the attached documentation: https://docs.servicenow.com/bundle/madrid-it-service-management/page/product/service-catalog-management/task/t_DefineACatalogItem.html#t_CopyACatalogItem Use the "Copy" button on the catalog item to create a copy.

var instURL = gs.getProperty('glide.servlet.uri'); if (instURL.indexOf('https://homesengland.service-now.com') > -1) { gs.print('do not run on prod'); } else { var sCatItemSYSID = ""; //sCatItemSYSID = "b25f293ddbfb9010d6ce3313f39619a9"; if (sCatItemSYSID != "") { var gr = new GlideRecord('sc_cat_item'); if (gr.get("sys_id", sCatItemSYSID)) { gr.picture = ''; gr.icon = ''; gr.update(); } } }

ServiceNow check for null or nil or empty (or not)

Haven't tested these all recently within global/local scopes, so feel free to have a play! option 1 use an encoded query embedded in the GlideRecord , e.g.  var grProf = new GlideRecord ( 'x_cls_clear_skye_i_profile' ); grProf . addQuery ( 'status=1^ owner=NULL ' ); grProf . query (); even better use the glideRecord  addNotNullQuery or addNullQuery option 2 JSUtil.nil / notNil (this might be the most powerful. See this link ) example: if ( current . operation () == 'insert' && JSUtil . notNil ( current . parent ) && ! current . work_effort . nil ())  option 3 there might be times when you need to get inside the GlideRecord and perform the check there, for example if the code goes down 2 optional routes depending on null / not null can use gs.nil : var grAppr = new GlideRecord ( 'sysapproval_approver' ); var grUser = new GlideRecord ( 'sys_user' ); if ( grUser . get ( 'sys_id' , current . approver )){

Get URL Parameter - server side script (portal or classic UI)

Classic UI : var sURL_editparam = gs . action . getGlideURI (). getMap (). get ( ' sysparm_aparameter ' ); if ( sURL_editparam == 'true' ) { gs . addInfoMessage ( 'parameter passed ); } Portal : var sURL_editparam = $sp . getParameter ( " sysparm_aparameter " ); if ( sURL_editparam == 'true' ) { gs . addInfoMessage ( 'parameter passed ); }
